for all of my talk of violent things - I wouldn't hurt anyone.
not unless I was left with literally no choice.
or if they started it first.

this isn't quite out of nowhere. It's an embracing of a part of myself I denied for longer than was healthy.
We - as humans - are predators and have a capacity for violence. This does not mean we have to give in.
What we need to be is civilized. This means to embrace what we are capable of - and develop manners to keep the antisocial parts under check. We can't forget those parts of us are present... but we can keep ourselves above it.

What else is civilization?

Having violent thoughts and abilities isn't the probem-being able to control them is. I am violent, but control my implulses, hence, I haven't harmed anyone (but with the constant inconsideration and rudeness from people these days, one day I will snap).

I've found that finding healthy release helps. There's always something that helps ya let things go.
