When did you first discover the World Wide Web?
When it first appeared.. It was SOOO cool to read all those physics papers... oh wait.
I -have- been online in one form or another since 1990 and had experience before that too.

What browser did you use?
Mozilla Firefox, KDE Konqueror, and occasionally Internet Exploiter

Were you on the internet before the WWW?
yes

What was your first username or handle?
tpeters. I can't remember my SFU ID though...

Do you remember the first word or phrase you typed into a search engine?
nope.... I tend to look for weird arcane things sooo

What web sites did you frequent upon discovering the Web?
CERN stuff, sunsite (for linux and later for linux updates), a gateway at MIT that allowed www access to people through telnet as there was only text access through a PAD at McElhanney....
I miss the Gothic Gardening page at gothic.net

Sometimes it's strange to remember just how -long- I've been around these bitwrangling weird contraptions.

Today I just rambled about. A nice gentleman stopped in and bought roommies' dishes so they happy. He had a friend that went to FSJ (yes That Place) and got into a cab company. IF I remember rightly - and I'm not sure - I think his friend still owns the company and is doing well. Not sure... memory is fuzzy. Especially when I was up there. Also talked golf a little - which I've never played.
However me mom has - she got 1st prize first time she played and has played a bit since... go figure.

Other than that programmin' (I betcha none of y'all are interested in reading about arcane handwaving like that)
and LJ-stuff. Eyes tired.
Been a Dead Can Dance day with a little Heather Alexander's music.

btw - one of my new roommies' groom (umm they're probably married by tomorrow) is sort of friends with Heather Alexander and after they last talked (the two), they can get Heather + her band up here for a show. If anyone's interested that is....
(a small hall - perhaps an SCA hall - with 20 or so people there - would match her -last- show)

umm that's all for now.
I got my keyboard that had water in it back up and running. Me happy. M$ natural thingy is much nicer on me hands. I've had one ever since I sort of lost the use of my hands for a couple of weeks.
Didja know that 10X daily dosage of vitamin B6 can cure the modern "carpal tunnel syndrom"? (the RSI form). BIG warning though - anything over daily dosage of B6 can cause heart problems or possibly heart failure if you have any heart problems to start. Just so y'all know. Kind of dangerous treatment. But it worked - 2 days later I had full use of my hands back.
And my employer at the time got me a "natural" keyboard. I've used 'em ever since.

Ta all!

I actually don't know how I feel about anyone until a situation actually comes up. It's kind of weird.

Years and years ago I learned "universal love" - the kind Jesus preached about (not his followers). It's a strange headspace. It's gotten me into trouble at various points through the years but basically I love everyone. I just may not like some people. It's not the same thing. It's not a sexual thing or a possessive thing but a caring warm welcoming thing. Strangely this is also why I could be a soldier if it ever came up. hrm. That's hard to explain too.

flip side

Me and most of my emotions aren't how you'd say - close. I've had so many people confuse and belittle my emotions I tend not to listen to them too much anymore. I'd very much like that to change. The few I can share easily are the few I've come to grips with.
It's probably going to take a while. I'm certainly looking forward to it...
(yes this includes crushes, attractions and a lot of the other more fun ones as well as the not so fun ones)

of course sometimes my heart goes and tells me something and I have to listen. Those are the most frustrating times because usually my heart is wrong wrong wrong.
*sigh*
Oh well...
someday

from JinWicked's comic....
okay the comic's real good.. I like this so I quote:

him: "Damn these business for hijacking and shameless commercialization of the Christmas holiday season. We need to remember the real meaning of Christmas". *grumble*
her: "Yeah... Damn those Christians for hijacking a perfectly good Roman Saturnalia festival and a bunch of pagan fertility symbols associated with the winter solstice". *happy grin*
him: "I hate you."

I have a totally bad addiction to webcomics. Okay it's not that bad but there's about 30-ish I keep up with....
