oh where my name (winterlion) came from
Dec. 19th, 2004 10:44 amone day, many many moons ago, I spent some time living a very ... harsh.. life in Calgary. I didn't exactly take the best care of myself at that time and when I went north for christmas my family described me as looking "feral". Not far from the truth really....
Anyways, I like to go for long walks. One particularily nice day I went for a walk (I think it was a balmy -20, with light snow falling). When I got home and came in from the cold, my mother called me a "lion walking in from the winter". I liked that description and we talked for a bit. The feral thing came up at that point....
Anyways, I liked the name. So I kept it. Used it online often enough to become comfortable with it.
I am not the kind of person who normally takes a handle. If I take on a name, it must be one I can fill to fullness - one that I am part of and it is part of me.
I love the winter. I love walking in snow. I'm not terribly fond of -40 I'll admit though... -20 was fine.
I love the look of horefrost. (and it was neat having it in my beard and hair at the time *g*)
I love rain (it isn't snow). Fort St John's prone to 8 month winters..... It's nice to have a break from that.
I love the excuse to cuddle. Winter is FULL of excuses to cuddle. Unsubtle hint
That is a longer story of where I got my name. I doubt it will get longer *g*. After all, a tale has to have a tuft at the end....
