From [livejournal.com profile] breklor as I don't think he'll mind spreading this one around:

In 1966, the United Nations declared March 21 the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination after peaceful demonstrators were killed in Sharpeville, South Africa, on March 21, 1960. Canada was one of the first countries to support this initiative. In 1989, to show the Government of Canada’s commitment to the elimination of racial discrimination and to raise awareness of the harmful effects of racism on our society, the Department of Canadian Heritage launched its first annual Racism. Stop It! Campaign. Respect, equality, diversity - these are three fundamental Canadian values that inspire the campaign.

Racism is fear. Fear is the mind-killer - the little death. End racism :)
(yes I'm quoting Dune. There's some smart quotes in there...)

oh and distracting geek moment: available here, a "mind map" of published science made here

*silly grin*
You mean la petit mort (http://www.beautifulagony.com/public/main.php)? (NWS! probably should NOT follow that link)

Most of the nordic countries use variants of Freija or Frigga's names....

I'd much rather face la petit mort than fear :)
